Ferry Industries Names New President
Stow, OH, Oct. 17, 2019 — Adam W. Covington, former vice president of sales and aftermarket, has been named president of Ferry Industries Inc., producer of rotational molding machinery for the global plastics industry.
Covington succeeds Michael DeGrandis who served as president for two years after the company was purchased by Madison Industries of Chicago. DeGrandis will now move on to another assignment within Madison Industries.
Covington has been with Ferry Industries for more than 10 years as manufacturing engineer, sales engineer, and then vice president of aftermarket and later vice president of sales and aftermarket. He is a graduate of Ohio University’s Russ College of Engineering and Technology and currently serves on the advisory board for the school’s Engineering Technology and Management program. After graduation, he worked as an engineer in the motorsports industry for Rahal Letterman Racing and BMW Motorsports, traveling to racetracks in the United States and abroad.
Covington was reared in the rotomolding industry, learning much from his father, Harry Covington Jr., who bought Ferry in 1982 and grew it to become the world’s largest and best-known manufacturer of capital equipment for rotational molding. After the senior Covington sold the company and retired, the new owners gave Adam Covington increased responsibilities and now have named him president.
Ferry Industries designs and manufactures rotational molding equipment in three configurations: carousel, in-line shuttle and rocking oven, for use in a diverse range of industries from playground equipment and kayaks to large-scale tanks. The company also engineers custom machines for its expanding domestic and international markets.
Ferry has an installed base of more than 1,300 machines in more than 60 countries. Ferry also produces ancillary support equipment to automate and streamline production for increased speed, energy efficiency and consistency.
